Surrogate Mothers?(if that's what it's called)?

If a couple takes her egg and his sperm to make an embryo and it's implanted into a surrogate does the surrogate's genetics effect the baby? eg: surrogate has diabetes but neither one of the couple does and no history of in the couple could the baby have a chance of having diabetes because of the surrogate? (or any other genetically passed on trait such as asthma)Surrogate Mothers?(if that's what it's called)?
Genetics of the Surrogate mother I don't think come into affect when it is a donor egg and sperm. It goes more by genetic family history however diabetes can still affect a child because if the "mother" develops Gestational Diabetes that will affect the baby and babies born to woman with GD are put at higher risk for diabetes later in life is what I was told. Blood disorders can also have an affect I believe as the "mothers" blood will be going through the placenta too. This would be a good question for the Dr, what genetics exactly would affect the baby.Surrogate Mothers?(if that's what it's called)?
A surrogate is just that a Surrogate which is a third person who is just carrying the other couples child, her genetics do not come into play at all during the process.

The child belongs to the couple who's child she is carrying, its their egg and their sperm and their genetics.

A couple will not ask a surrogate to carry their child if she has health issues such as diabetes, and most people who are considering using a surrogate will go through an agency who screen for all health and drug issues.

And if they are using an Egg donor(her eggs) she will be screened prior to egg collection, she will undergo alot of blood tests and counseling before hand. I do know from experience as I was considering to become an egg donor that if you have any health issues, std's etc they will not consider you viable to do an egg donor, so to answer your question no it won't affect the process if she is a healthy egg donor.

And most egg donors do not carry for the couple, they either use the couples egg and sperm and implant in to the surrogate or they use her eggs and his sperm and implant into the infertile woman

Edit: No not a good idea to use someone who is a diabetic as a surrogate or egg donor and like I said before during the process of egg donating she will be ruled out as not a suitable candidate to egg donate/surrogate due to the diabetes, in order to donate you need to be in a good bill of health with no std's etc.
