Depends on the arrangement. Some do and some don't. I think it should be decided on a case by case basis.
It's up to the three people involved to decide. Sometimes it's strictly business, sometimes the surrogate is a good friend or even a family member of the biological parents. There's no blanket answer.If surrogate mothers are the *real* "birth" mothers...?
If the birth mother wants to stay in touch with her child after giving it up for adoption, then it should be discussed with the adoptive parents and there should be some kind of arrangement between them.
