Do surrogate mothers get paid for time off work?

Are they expected to work until their 3rd trimester? I know that they get compensated up to $20K, but is this just the fee for the agreement or is it supposed to include everything aside from medical expenses?Do surrogate mothers get paid for time off work?
It would depend on the individual plan or maternal leave that your job provides.

I would think that just because you are not pregnant with your own baby you are still pregnant. Just like if you are adopting your baby out you still need time to recover.

Talk to your boss about that. As for working up until your 3rd trimester it would depend on how much vacation and sick time you have.

When I had my daughter she wanted to come early so I had to be on bed rest in my last month. I was able to take sick time and so I got paid for that. Usually a company does not pay you beyond that. It would be great if it did lol.

Blessings:)
It depends on the contract agreement you made. Some inlcude time off for bed rest with pay, others do not. As a surrogate, you are eligible for FMLA, or any other benefits a pregnant mother has at your workplace. If you are considering becoming a surrogate, you really NEED to get your contract checked out by a lawyer who specializes in that area.Do surrogate mothers get paid for time off work?
