What happens if the baby of a surrogate mother dies?

I'm doing a project for school about surrogate mothers, i have searched this question everywhere and can't seem to find an answer. So what would happen if a surrogate mother was carrying a baby, and the baby unexpectedly didn't make it?What happens if the baby of a surrogate mother dies?
Nothing, its in the contract that its a possibility of that happening.

NOw if she was abusing her body/herself as the result of the baby dying sure there will be legal action taken against her and possibly the company who hired her.
It depends on the agreement that they had. Pregnancy loss is unavoidable, there's very little you can do to prevent it. The couple may not pay her at all, they may just pay for any procedures she needs with a small amount of compensation for trying depending on how long she carried the baby, they may choose to try again. There are no clear cut rules about surrogacy, and the finer details need to be discussed between the parents and the surrogate. Maybe someone who has been a surrogate on here will be able to help you on this one. What happens if the baby of a surrogate mother dies?
Nothing really.....she had a miscarriage and there really isnt anything people can do. She wouldnt get paid, and the people who were getting her to carry their baby might try and find someone else. But i mean there really isnt anything that would be done.
