I am very interested in becoming a surrogate mother, but every site I have looked at says I need to have had at least one healthy pregnancy already.
I am healthy, no kids, great support system, and I want to help out couples in need.
Does anyone know of anyway I could become a surrogate mother even though I haven't had kids?
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.Why do potential surrogate mothers need to have at least one pregnancy before becoming a surrogate mother??
I think they want you to have had at least one child so they can see if you have any problems during that pregnancy. Not if you didn't you couldnt have later. But my doctor told me the more kids you have and carry to turme the more the odds of carrying the next one to term. If you really want to do it you may just have to find a couple who wants to have a baby and cant and who would want you to do it. Like some people ask their friends or family member to if they can't. If you could find a couple like that.
They want to make sure that there have been no problems such as premature births, birth defects, etc.Why do potential surrogate mothers need to have at least one pregnancy before becoming a surrogate mother??
The reason they want you to have gone through at least one healthy pregnancy is to prove your body can handle a pregnancy and carry it to term. People pay thousands of dollars to a surrogate and wouldnt it be sad if the surragate for some reason was unable to carry a child and they found that out after the intended parents put out all this money?
Because unless you've had children, you don't know how your body will react to being pregnant.
Couples put a lot of money into using a surrogate and they certainly don't want to risk hurting you or their baby.
Two reasons. Emotional and financial. Women who have never had a pregnancy have no idea about the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy. They are also more likely to not follow through on giving the baby to the parents. Secondly, there is a lot of cost involved in hiring a surrogate. If you've never had a baby, there is no way to know if things are failing because you are mysteriously infertile or if it due to something else. Perhaps you are a person who can get pregnant but has miscarriage after miscarriage? Lots of money down the drain.
