A surrogate mother is one that donates her body to hold a developing baby for a specific couple. If the case is two homosexual men, an egg would be needed as well as one of those men's sperm to fertilize that egg. The egg could come from anywhere, including the surrogate mother. The sperm would usually come from one of the homosexual men to fertilize that egg. The surrogate mother would carry this baby in her womb to develop.

Now, if you want to get technical, the baby that is formed would have one mom and one dad (biologically). That would be determined by where the egg and sperm to make this child came from. If the egg that created this baby was not the surrogate mother's egg, then she is technically NOT the biological mother, even though she housed the baby for 9 months. The biological parents are the ones whose sperm and egg were used to make the baby. Now, biology aside, this baby's parents would be two dads. The surrogate mother provides her womb for the necessary time to develop this baby, and that is it. No parenting is involved (usually).

In short, the biological parents would be the woman who the egg belonged to and the man who the sperm belonged to, and the legal parents would be the two men this baby was made for.

A homosexual family works the same as a heterosexual family, except there are two men or two women involved instead of one of each. They may opt to have the baby call them mom or dad or dad and dad or mom and mom. It just varies from family to family.
A surrogate mother is a woman who goes through a pregnancy for another couple. She does not have to be their biological mother because they may choose to have an egg donated (women donate eggs just like men donate sperm to banks). It is possible that they may use her egg, but it is not necessary.

If they used her egg then, yes, she would be the biological mother. So the child would have two fathers to raise him/her, but obviously only one biological mother and one biological father.

The fathers would legally be the parents to the child. The surrogate mother may or may not have a role in the child's life, it is simply up to the fathers. Typically when they do allow the surrogate mother to play a role in the childs life she just comes over for holidays, birthdays, barbeques and such. She most likely will not play any role in the day to day life of the child. What is a surrogate mother? How can she help a pair of gay male couple to bear children?
A surrogate is someone that agrees to carry a child for a couple that is infertile. Typically an egg and a sperm are taken to create an embryo from the couple and it is placed into the surrogate mother to carry and deliver the child for them so it does require both a man and a woman in order to obtain a surrogate.
A surrogate mother is a person who carries the baby, gives birth to it, then never sees it again. Unless the adoptive parents want her in the child's life, she is completely out of it. Also, surrogates are paid to carry the baby. It's like a job.
A surrogate is when eggs %26amp; (or) sperm is taken from the couple and placed into a person chosen to carry the baby. The woman carries the child for nine months and then the baby is given to the couple.
