Is it legal for a single man to have a surrogate mother give birth to his children?

And bring them up on his own? Would he have to adopt them from the woman? Also, whose eggs would be used- the surrogate's or an egg donor's?Is it legal for a single man to have a surrogate mother give birth to his children?
I am a surrogate myself so this is a great question for me. It is not illegal for a single man to have a surrogate mother. If you are trying this for the first time, I would reccomend going through an agency. They will walk you through everything and even help with the legal part of it. Depending on what state you are in will determine if he has to legally adopt the child from the surrogate or not. If you are a gestational surrogate (which I am), you use a donor's eggs, if you are a traditional surrogate, you use your own eggs and then yes, you would definitely have to have him adopt the child.

Good luck!!
As long as everything is done legally and all the papers are signed by both parties. They would use her's %26amp; his sperm. So the man has to be sure that the woman signs away parental rights before the baby is born. She might have a hard time giving the baby up though. That has happened in the past.Is it legal for a single man to have a surrogate mother give birth to his children?
Traditional surrogacy uses the surrogate mother's egg/s and the intended father's sperm via artificial insemination. I think it would be legal if it's legal in your state.
I feel like was said before, probably safest would be to go through an agency and have a surrogate have a child in which the egg is not hers but a egg donor's egg so that it is alot easier so that, this way, she would have no legal rights to child which is not hers by blood/genetics.

I don't see why it would be illegal unless your state doesn't allow it.

You could contact a local agency to ask on that and find out.
you work out the details with the surrogate, and yes you have to adopt, you need to obtain an attorney or agency that specializes in surrogacy
He should first check out the laws where he lives on Surrogate parenting. Also, once the man chooses the woman he wants to have his children, it would be a good idea to have a lawyer draw up the papers to make everything legal. He would have to decide where the eggs come from. If he wants to do it with the least complication I would suggest not using the surrogates eggs- get them from a bank. A lawyer should be involved for both sides peace of mind.
It is legal, but you must go through an agency that specializes in surrogacy. Since he is the father, he may not have to adopt, but the mother has to waive her parental rights. Many judges today will not allow the mother to waive her parental rights unless the single man went through an agency.

%26lt;%26lt; she would have no legal rights to child which is not hers by blood/genetics.%26gt;%26gt;

This by another poster is not true. The law recognizes the mother as mother whether they are her eggs or not.
