actually most of them do, they have counseling full paid for them if they a surrogate with one of the many fertility specialists so I image there might be a unwritten rule about that. However most surrogate mothers are already in the state of mind to give the baby up from the moment of conception.
i think counselling is mandatory in the UK anyway - but yes,its a good idea.although many surrogates are doing it because they love being pregnant but their own family is complete,and in one case that i saw on TV,she loved being pregnant but had no desire to be a mother and raise children herselfDo you think surrogate mothers should go to consulering before, during and after?

I think they do go to counseling... I believe there is a special branch of family counseling for surrogates and the biological parents of the child.
Yes! I know I could never do that. I mean I know its a very selfless thing to do but it would kill me!!!
