So this question might sound a little retarted, but its a question. lol. I have been thinking about being a surrogate mother for a long time, but in alot of the agencies websites it says that you can't be on any kind of financial aid from the government. My husband is in the military so he gets paid from the government, and we are on his insurance, does that count for getting financial help?Question about Surrogate mothers and finacial aid...?
NO! Financial aid they mean by Welfare and stuff like that. You cant be in a sh.it load of debt and be a surrogate. They know you are only in it for the money and thats not the right reason to be a surrogate. Im acutally a surrogate and there are several girls in our group that are military. So being military will not disqualify you. But do know that you and your husband have to go through extensive counseling and screening. They only accept about 2 of every 10 candidates that apply. Good luck with your journey in becoming a surrogate.
I have heard that Tricare will no longer accept people insured through them be a surrogate. But if you go through the correct center, your couple is responsible for getting you insurance. Its usually Cobra. Most couples are looking for someone who can use their maternity benefits with their current insurance. Getting you an insurance policy is just more money your couple will have to come up with and surrogacy is expensive in itself.
no it does not count, however you will never be able to go through with it. Question about Surrogate mothers and finacial aid...?
I'm pretty sure you have to use your own personal health insurance and the military won't pay for it. So it will be all out of your pocket. Call somewhere about it and they will be able to give you a lot more info.
