What are your thoughts on the growing phenomenon of men hiring surrogate mothers to have a child for them?

These are straight men who believe they can raise a child without "a woman being under foot", which is a variation on quotes by mothers having children using sperm banks.What are your thoughts on the growing phenomenon of men hiring surrogate mothers to have a child for them?
Personally, I always think people should strive to have and bring up children in a loving relationship, however humans aren't perfect and life just doesn't work that way most of the time...



I would say I feel uncomfortable with the idea of someone just going out there and 'hiring' someone to carry a baby for them to raise alone, it's kind of selfish (of course again, only in my humble opinion).

But on the other side of the coin, if a child is going to be brought into the world, it is better that he/she has at least one parent who would love and provide for him/her...
