Hi, I see it as a wonderful gift, and it was something my ex husband and I once spoke about offering to do for one of his brothers when we thought he and his wife couldn't have (not that she'd have agreed she has her nose stuck up her own ***) but being a parent ourselves we understood their desire for the same wonder. Our discussions never went any further and they went on to have two gorgeous sons.
If the baby was NOT my egg I could separate myself from the baby and not bond as aware that it is NOT my child-I could have done that easily, not now though as done my fair share of child bearing
I see no harm, unless you count the surrogate's feelings toward the child. I see it as dividing up the workload, the surrogate bears the child, and the receiving mother takes care of it for 18 years. Eventually busy mothers will be doing this all of the time, in order to be able to keep their figures, and not have to take maternity leave from work...

It's kind of yucky. and it will be kind of weird telling your child where they came from and how when and if that time comes, and if you wouldn't, why not? why not be honest about it except for that there is something abnormal, outside the laws of nature, icky and freakish, about the whole thing. I think there are plenty or there should be plenty of children to adopt when one can't reproduce on their own. Going to such lengths and amounts of money to reproduce your own genes kind of stinks of egotism.
